Why so many Scrooges?

In the midst of a season of caring and sharing, it amazes me the number of Scrooges that are not so silently hanging about. It makes me wonder how truly terrible their lives must be in order to resemble the famous Scrooge character. It also is so shocking to me how much these Scrooges of the world feel it is necessary to share their unhappiness.

All one can do when encountering Mr. Scrooge himself is smile and count to ten. We have to realize their unhappiness is all consuming and therefore we should feel for these people as opposed to giving in to their unpleasant ways.

I have recently dealt with my very on scrooge and instead of realizing how unhappy the individual was I simply beat myself up over the unkind words he chose to use to describe me. Unfortunetly, I was unable to tell him what I really thought because I was in uniform but that is simply a blessing in disguise because nothin I said could have made Scrooge change his mind or make him happy. I am hoping that this teaches me to not take everything people say as fact, some people truly ate living in their own misery and need to share with others.

I challenge you and myself that in this season of caring and sharing to take the Scrooges of the world with a grain of salt and to always smile and recognize that you don't need to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Be happy and pray your happiness is contagious. One can only hope.

Merry Christmas!!!
